HiveSourced in New York
A therapist website in New York has to state your exact NYSED license, be clear about who you can see by telehealth, and give a New Yorker enough detail to choose you over the next search result. HiveSourced designs custom WordPress websites for New York therapists and group practices with all three built in from launch.
New York has its own license titles, its own telepractice rule and a credential that changed meaning in 2023. A template written for every state misses all of it.
New York licenses LMHCs, LMFTs, creative arts therapists and psychoanalysts as separate professions. A vague "licensed therapist" line hides what makes you a fit.
"Online therapy anywhere" is risky copy. In New York, what counts is where your client is located and where you're licensed.
Many New York sites still lean on the LCSW-R as an insurance signal, even though the Insurance Law stopped requiring it in 2023.
If nothing on your site is specific to New York, Google and AI assistants have little reason to show it for New York searches.
New York practices get the same full core service as every HiveSourced client, then the licensing, telehealth and location details described below.
Figma design before any code
Three homepage directions to choose from, then every page designed in Figma, with unlimited revisions while we design.
Copywriting in your voice
We write from a structured intake about the people you see and the words they use when they finally reach out.
On-page SEO and schema
Page titles, meta descriptions, headings, schema markup and Google Search Console set up before launch.
Built for phones first
Most people look for a therapist on their phone, so every layout starts on mobile and then scales up.
HIPAA-compliant contact form
Inquiries go through encrypted channels, and we help you connect a HIPAA-compliant email system for replies.
Training video and Slack updates
A recorded walkthrough so you can edit your own site, plus a Slack channel with build updates every Tuesday and Friday.
Here is what we add for New York practices, based on what the NYSED Office of the Professions publishes for licensees. Your licensing decisions stay with you and NYSED; we make sure the site says it clearly and accurately.
NYSED licenses mental health counselors, marriage and family therapists, creative arts therapists and psychoanalysts, as well as social workers and psychologists. Each clinician profile names the exact title so clients know who they are booking.
NYSED's telepractice guidance says you need a New York license, or other authorization, to serve a client located in New York or when you are located in New York. Your telehealth page reflects that.
Under Chapter 818 of the Laws of 2022, the "R" privilege stopped being required under New York's Insurance Law on January 1, 2023. LCSWs who earned it keep it.
A Manhattan office, a Brooklyn office and statewide telehealth are three different searches. Each setup gets its own page with the address, hours and how to get there, matched to your Google Business Profile.
People search for the problem first: anxiety, couples counseling, trauma, ADHD. Each of your main specialties gets its own page, written for that client and linked to the clinicians who offer it.
Many New York practices start solo and add associates. We set the site up so new clinicians, license types and offices can be added without a rebuild. Larger teams can read about our group practice websites.
We collect your license details, specialties, offices and telehealth setup, plus the questions clients ask you most.
About 1 to 2 weeks. You choose a homepage direction before we design anything else.
About 1 to 3 weeks, with unlimited revisions until every page feels right to you.
About 1 week. WordPress build, schema, analytics and Search Console, then a training video for you.
Most projects launch 3 to 6 weeks after kickoff. We work fully remotely, so a practice in Buffalo or Albany gets the same process as one in Manhattan.
We work with therapy practices across the US, including New York. See finished sites in our portfolio.

Do you only work with therapists in New York City?
No. We work remotely with practices across New York State and the rest of the US. Everything runs over video calls, email and a shared Slack channel, so a practice in Rochester gets the same process and attention as one in Brooklyn.
What should a New York therapist website say about licensure?
Use your exact NYSED license title (for example LMHC, LMFT, LCSW or licensed psychologist) and your name as it appears on the license, and consider linking to the NYSED license verification page. We present what you give us accurately; questions about your license itself belong with NYSED or your attorney.
Can my website say I offer telehealth outside New York?
Only for states where you are licensed or otherwise authorized. NYSED's telepractice guidance says a New York license or other authorization is needed to serve a client located in New York, and other states set their own rules for clients located there. We add a state to your site only after you confirm it.
Should I still put LCSW-R on my website?
If you earned it, you can keep using it. NYSED notes that since January 1, 2023 the "R" privilege is no longer required under New York's Insurance Law, and NYSED no longer processes new R applications. So we explain it briefly and put your specialties first.
How much does a therapist website cost in New York?
Custom websites start from $2,000, the same as for practices in any other state. Hosting for sites we build is $20 per month and the Monthly SEO plan is $500 per month. See current packages on our pricing page.
How long does it take to launch?
Most sites launch 3 to 6 weeks after kickoff: about 1 to 2 weeks for homepage style options, 1 to 3 weeks for the full Figma design, and about 1 week for the build, SEO setup and launch. Group practices with many profiles can take longer.
Is the contact form on my site HIPAA compliant?
Every build includes a HIPAA-compliant contact form that sends inquiries through encrypted channels. HiveSourced doesn't store or process protected health information, and we help you connect a HIPAA-compliant email system. More on that in our guide to HIPAA-compliant emails and forms.
